Being a teacher takes a lot of courage! You have studied and studies, until you feel confident to face the music and dance. You enter a classroom and students stare at you. "What is he or she like? Is it a law and order person, a cheerful friend or a blank piece of paper?"
You decided to be the nice uncle they never had and after a few weeks you realize that you have lost respect and control!
This happened to all of us, I am sure. But how did you turn the situation around? I am curious to find out how you dealt with the situation. Did you find your own style and how long did it take? Or did you decide to take up another kind of profession, or worse, decided to become a school manager?
